A Study Meeting on Patient and Public Involvement in Basic Research Held by RIKEN with the Kleefstra Syndrome Japan Family Association

On February 10, a study meeting on Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) was held at RIKEN. The meeting was organized by the Laboratory for Biomedical Ethics and Co-design (BECoD) at the RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences in collaboration with the Shinkai Cellular Memory Laboratory of the RIKEN Pioneering Research Institute (Shinkai Lab) and the Kleefstra Syndrome Japan Family Association (hereafter, the KS Family Association).

This was the first online study meeting in basic research bringing together members of the KS Family Association, RIKEN researchers studying Kleefstra syndrome (KS), and experts in research ethics to discuss patient and public involvement and engagement in basic research on KS.
